Fishing for New Business, the Dani Johnson Way

Anyone who has ever been fishing knows that the right bait can make all of the difference. If what is hooked to the end of the line is not appealing to the fish, there will be no catches. Good anglers spend time and effort researching which bait the local fish will enjoy. Whether fish in other locations or the anglers themselves find this bait appealing is irrelevant. Our friend Dani Johnson equates this to the process of attracting new business…it’s all in the bait, my friends!

Dani points out that we cannot lead others to take action unless we provide something they want. She recently relayed a situation from her First Steps to Success workshop in London. A participant asked how she could convince her boss to establish a charitable arm within her company. The woman had a desire to help others in need but the boss was unmoved by sick people or orphans. Dani advised the woman to lead by what the boss wanted.

If the woman wants the charitable arm to become reality, she must speak to the profit-making, success-seeking motivation of the boss, not her own altruistic desires. She must show how adding a charitable arm to the business will help the company grow through satisfied, productive workers who provide free advertising. The boss will be much more inclined to respond to this “bait” than to a plea to think about those in need.

The same approach can be used when trying to create six figure income through your own business. Do some investigating to identify what prospective partners like or need and use these motivations as bait. If they are looking for something that helps people stay fit but you only emphasize the financial aspects of partnership, the endeavor will fall flat. When dealing directly with consumers, do the same homework and offer these folks exactly what they are looking for rather than something they do not care about or already have.

People want what they want and there is not much that anyone else can do to change that. Rather than trying to influence them to want what you do, provide motivation that speaks to their needs. This eliminates the selling aspect of the transaction, turning it into a two-way exchange between equal parties. Each person feels respected and appreciated and receives what he or she desires.

Try this technique when striving to achieve personal goals because it is just as effective in this arena. It has helped people expand their community influence, take their religious organizations to the next level, and improve their personal relationships. In fact, there is not much that we cannot do if we have the right bait on our hooks.

With this advice, Dani continues to illustrate why so many people turn to her for guidance in various aspects of their lives. She has already helped thousands of people free themselves from debt, become entrepreneurs, and improve their personal lives. Stay tuned for more words of wisdom from this self-made millionaire because we know they are coming!

The Importance of Healthy Relationships

In some ways, technology has made our lives extremely complex. However, it has also simplified our ability to keep in touch with other people. Networking and developing relationships are important but despite the prevalence of technology we seem to be doing less of these things. According to Time magazine, we have 33 percent fewer friends today than our counterparts of 20 years ago did. Many people blame technology itself, saying it has negatively impacted their personal and professional lives.

College students report that technology has reduced their ability to trust and cooperate with others and has prevented them from understanding and sharing their feelings. Facebook, Twitter, and other social media networks may be technology-based but what they are really about is relationships. By using technology effectively, we can enhance our relationships rather than becoming distracted from the process of engaging with others.

Instead of spending all day staring at a computer screen, make an effort to limit the amount of computer and television time for non-work and school related activities. When spending time with friends and family members, be present. Put down the smartphone or tablet computer and engage in face-to-face conversations with the people in the room. Social media feeds and emails can wait.

REM sleep is negatively affected by viewing an LCD screen just before falling asleep. Rather than watching TV or using online apps, read a book or have a discussion with your family. Technology should never replace traditional forms of interaction because it is no substitute. However, it can be an effective tool for making introductions and developing relationships enhanced by other efforts.

People who have healthy relationships tend to be happier. Parents, not the Internet or television, teach their children good people skills. Parents should set an example for their children by interacting with others face-to-face rather than only through a computer or telephone screen. They should show children how to use technology for beneficial purposes such as creating social networks that provide personal rewards. Parents must carefully monitor use of technology by their children because there are many traps that lead youngsters down a bad path.

When used properly, social media can be very effective. Legitimate home business owners rely upon social media to expand their professional networks, generating more income. However, they also recognize the importance of face-to-face interaction. Therefore, they limit their social media time and focus on making each online engagement a productive one. By using social media for open, honest communication, they develop long-term customer relationships characterized by trust. This and other forms of technology help small business owners reach large, global audiences.

Educating others about healthy use of technology helps everyone create healthy and beneficial relationships. These networks expand the available personal and business opportunities. Knowing when it is time to use the smartphone, tablet, or laptop to engage with others and when it is time to unplug can make a big difference in the number and quality of your relationships. Life will be much healthier and more rewarding when you develop trusting connections with others.

Jeff Usner Reveals the Secret to Online Business Success

Though the hit ABC television show Secret Millionaire is no longer filming, a past episode was re-aired on Easter weekend. This episode featured Jeff Usner, Internet marketing guru and family man. Anyone who tuned in may be wondering what Jeff is up to now. Since the episode originally aired, this millionaire has released a book, spoken at events across the country, and continued to grow his businesses. He has also taken to his website to provide tips for anyone aspiring to replicate his success.

Jeff is the master of making money online and he shares his secrets with the world through his website. In a recent post, he revealed the best way to earn money with an online home business. It begins with identifying what Jeff refers to as a “money market.” There are so many online business possibilities that many people become overwhelmed just thinking about their options. Jeff has perfected the art of finding niches that eventually become business endeavors.

His advice is to conduct some research by perusing magazines for advertisements. After creating a list of items being promoted, search for the different markets online. Review the list of relevant terms that appear in the auto search area when you are typing queries into major search engines. These automatically generated terms represent the most popular searches.

Those terms are the niches to focus on when creating a new online business. For example, type in the word “dog” and the auto search may return dog clothing, dog walkers, and dog sitters. Select one of these niches and create a business around it. With time and effort, success will come in the form of online profits.

Getting involved in seasonal markets is another approach that Jeff recommends. Holidays occur throughout the year and people are always looking for ways to celebrate them. Creating a website filled with gift ideas, costumes, events, and vacation packages will attract visitors throughout the year. Adding special offers will turn first-time shoppers into loyal customers. Stop and think about how crowded the mall becomes every December and you will realize that seasonal markets are small pots of gold.

These ideas may sound simple but that is the whole point. An online business does not need to be a complicated undertaking. Though success requires time and hard work, the job should be fun not something that is too difficult for the average person to master. Jeff recommends starting with one niche and acting to create a successful business in this area. Once the operation is running smoothly, build on it or expand to a second niche.

This is a small portion of the valuable business advice that this Internet marketing millionaire has to offer to anyone who is interested. Read more on his website and in his book. A mentor like Jeff is not easy to find so take advantage of his willingness to share tips for success. A successful online business may seem like a dream right now but with a proven approach, it can become a long-term reality.

Dani Johnson Offers Advice About Improving Good Habits

Whether it is too many sweets or too much television time, bad habits are easy to pick up. Good habits, on the other hand, seem difficult to establish let alone stick to for a prolonged period. For good habits to stick, they must become second nature. Dani Johnson knows a lot about replacing bad habits with good ones and retaining positive habits over the long-term. She recently shared valuable advice on the topic through her website.

Dani provided a realistic view of how long it takes to develop a habit. While some experts say 21 days is the magical timeframe, Dani blew this out of the water with one simple example. Someone with bad eating habits will not typically change those within 21 days. Many of us have experienced the truth of this statement first-hand. Though some habits can be picked up more quickly than others can, Dani referenced new research that indicates that it takes 66 days, on average, to form a habit.

The change begins with a decision, said the lifestyle improvement expert. Following this decision with action ensures success. True to her helpful nature, Dani provided several practical tips for taking continuous action toward the development of good habits. She began by telling us to start slowly and work our way toward our goals. Small changes made incrementally can make good habits easier to internalize.

Working toward a goal makes the objective more attainable because it provides incremental gains. For example, someone who wants to start a business from home should begin by exploring various home business ideas. These alternatives can be whittled down to a single concept that is interesting and has impressive financial potential. After developing a business plan, strategizing, and establishing goals, a new entrepreneur will be on the road to success.

Another valuable piece of advice that Dani provided is not to get discouraged. Mistakes will be made and these should not be considered setbacks. One day of unhealthy eating should not cause someone to discard a dietary goal. Instead, that person should celebrate previous accomplishments and begin eating healthy again the next day. By focusing on successes instead of failures, we make future successes more likely.

While focusing on developing our own good habits, we should also encourage others to do the same. Everyone benefits from inspiration sometimes and our positive message may come just when it is needed. We should celebrate accomplishments of others, letting them know that their hard work has not gone unnoticed. If our goals align, we can work toward them together because support can help handle any difficulties that arise.

There is never a bad time to incorporate good habits into our lives. Once we make the decision and take action to change bad habits to good ones, we will be on our way. Whether we want to shed some pounds, get more exercise,  reduce unnecessary spending, or take charge of our careers, starting slow and eliminating discouraging thoughts increase the chance of the long-term success that we deserve.

Creating A Business From Scratch

Business ownership offers freedom, control, and flexibility that working for someone else cannot provide. There were 27.9 million small businesses in the U.S. as of 2010 and 52 percent of these were home-based businesses. While these entrepreneurs live the American Dream, others provide excuses not to join them. Objections range from not knowing how or where to start to not having the money needed. If people spent less time coming up with excuses and more time taking action, they could improve their lives.

There is no single stereotypical business owner. Some people start businesses because they must earn money and cannot do it another way. They may have been laid off and are unable to find work or health issues may prevent them from working a traditional job. Others love their current jobs but are not earning enough money so they start their own businesses on the side. Many people desire the freedom that working from home provides, allowing them to work wherever their travels take them.

Wanting to start a business is not the same as doing it. There will always be excuses that prevent getting started even if you have a strong desire to run a business. However, these objections should not stop anyone from becoming an entrepreneur. Time, skills, and effort are the only things needed to create a business from scratch. A huge amount of money is not necessary. Many successful entrepreneurs used only the tools and resources they already had.

Creating a work at home business from nothing may seem frightening or overwhelming. Merely thinking about developing something that could become successful scares some people. The key is to stop thinking about obstacles and start thinking about possibilities. Doing so reveals that there is no valid excuse against entrepreneurship. The possibilities are almost endless, including everything from cleaning houses or mowing lawns to starting a home-based skin care or travel business.

The opportunities are already there. Do not waste time looking for one that is the best fit. Doing that now only prolongs the road to success. If many successful entrepreneurs waited to discover their perfect opportunities, they would still be broke and unknown.  Find something in front of you and get started. After attaining a level of success, you can explore other opportunities to find the perfect one.

Helping others to succeed can make an entrepreneur more successful so bring friends, family, and co-workers along on the journey. Simply sharing inspirational ideas may be enough. If the situation permits, start a business as a group or have others come on board as independent contractors. Sharing the positive aspects of entrepreneurship with others benefits everyone involved.

Spring is a season renewal and replenishment. Why not take that perspective with your future? There is no better time to start a business than today. Look around and recognize the opportunities that exist, then grab one of them and get started. Learn, polish skills, and continue to develop a business into something to be proud of for years to come.
