Coastal Vacations / Coastal Travel mentioned on Popular Travel Website

I recently ran into this article from www.zmetraveldotcom one of my favorite travel websites.

Ok, so you’ve found a great travel package, dealing everything from transportation to lodging to food to travel guides, at a unbelievable low cost. Well lucky you, but before you blindly follow into the deal, consider that some things are too good to be true, or as i like to call them: scams!

PAY NOW, TRAVEL LATER …

Usually, scam agent won’t give you full and complete information, regarding your travel plan, in writing until after you’ve given them a credit card number, certified check or money order. Once you do get further information, there will be restrictions and conditions which may make it more expensive, or even impossible, to take your trip. You can see a mock scam site by the Federal Trade Commission here.

While getting a refund is sometimes possible, it’s better to avoid paying anything in the first place. While there is the remote chance that you might miss a legitimate deal, chances are you will save yourself time and money in the long run.

To help avoid being a victim of a travel scam, the American Society of Travel Agents provides the following suggestions when evaluating travel offers:

» Be extremely skeptical about postcard and phone solicitations which say you’ve been selected to receive a fabulous vacation;

» You should receive complete details in writing about any trip prior to payment. These details should include the total price; cancellation and change penalties, if any; and specific information about all components of the package;

» If you insist on calling a 900 number in response to a travel solicitation, understand the charges and know the risks;

» Walk away from high pressure sales presentations which don’t allow you time to evaluate the offer, or which require that you disclose your income;

» Be suspicious of companies which require that you wait at least 60 days to take your trip.

If you’re reading this and think you’ve been scammed, contact your local Better Business Bureau, your local or state Consumer Affairs Office ASAP, state attorney general’s office, or e-mail ASTA’s Consumer Affairs Department at consumeraffairs@astahq.com for information and assistance.

Coastal Vacations a Scam? Facts About Coastal Vacations

With so many things being said about Coastal Vacations, its travel packages, and its business opportunity, people on the Internet could get confused about what Coastal Vacations really is and if it really is a legitimate home based business and travel package.

First of all, Coastal Vacations is an association of entrepreneurs that have purchased a travel package at any of the three levels available and market these same packages at wholesale prices or as a business opportunity.

This is why they let Coastal’s vendors give away these free vacations and cruises- to fill out the rooms, and of course, they know these people will spend money in other areas even if they get a free room.

SPORTS TRAVEL PACKAGES

Often you will find advertisements for travel packages to major sporting events, like the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500 or the World Series. Due to the limited time window, in which sporting events are held (same goes for any scheduled large event like concerts, festivals, conference), people will often look for fast and cheap ways of getting there, the thought of scams never cross their minds. Many of these offers are legitimate, but there have been instances in the past where consumers have been scammed by unscrupulous vendors who never had tickets to the event.


“Every year, we hear reports of sports fans whose travel plans were ruined by a questionable organization with an offer that sounded too good to be true,” said ASTA President and CEO Cheryl Hudak, CTC. “A good travel agent knows which questions to ask and what to look for in a legitimate sports travel package. Many people aren’t aware, for instance, that under the U.S. government’s ‘Truth in Ticketing’ rules, a tour operator advertising a Super Bowl travel package that includes a flight and game tickets must have the game tickets in hand or have a written contract for the tickets before they can even advertise.”

Before you buy a sports travel package, be sure to carefully read the tour brochure and any other solicitation material and pay by credit card, where possible, so you can be protected under federal fair credit practice laws.

AGENT CREDENTIALS FROM ‘CARD MILLS‘

Beware of offers from companies that sell questionable travel agent credentials. Consumers may be led to believe that such cards allow them to travel at free or reduced rates.

Organizations making these offers are known throughout the travel industry as “card mills” because they routinely offer credentials by the thousands in the form of an identification card that is sold for a significant fee. In turn, these cards would presumably be accepted by every segment of the travel industry. Many suppliers of travel, however, do not accept them.

Jackie O’Quinn traded in his nurse’s scrubs for a travel-based opportunity that’s given him a lifestyle beyond his wildest dreams.

Jackie O’Quinn assumed he would be a nurse his entire life. It’s what he went to school for. It was a career he enjoyed, and one he was good at. There were some drawbacks—he only brought home about $2,000 a month after taxes, his hours rotated constantly and resulted in many long shifts—but for three years he took the good with the bad because he treasured being able to make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis.


Eventually, though, salary became a sticking point as Jackie started to slip into debt. He had trouble finding ways to supplement his income due to his fluctuating hours. He certainly didn’t want to give up nursing for good, but he needed to find a way to earn some extra cash to keep his bank account in the black.


“I thought I would always do this part time,” Jackie remembers. “I was in debt and I wanted to find a way to make some extra money to pay it off. I wanted to have more freedom—the idea of having to work bad shifts, no consistency, and no control over my time was terrible. I figured that if I got lucky and found something that worked, I’d always do nursing part time.”


Since his schedule made working a second traditional job was out of the question, Jackie narrowed his search to home-based businesses, something he could build from home on his downtime. One opportunity in particular, Coastal Vacations, stood out to him because of their large upfront commissions and steep discounts on travel, hotels, and airfare. He had experimented with a few direct sales companies in the past with little success but knew right off the bat that this was something special.


“Coastal has a product that you can’t go to Wal-Mart and purchase, and I felt that a customer can easily see the value in the product,” Jackie explains. “I wanted the product. Plus, the profit margin is significant. The customer gets a massive discount and I knew that would be evident.”

As excited as he was, Jackie was well aware of his past failures and waded in slowly, working his business eight to 12 hours a week around his nursing schedule. If he was on the evening shift, he’d work the phones in the morning.


When it was time to switch back over to day shift, Jackie would come home and dedicate part of his night to Coastal. The complete flexibility of the business allowed him to continue his nursing work and not miss a beat at home.


His sales grew slowly but steadily over the first few months, providing him with enough extra income to live comfortably. Jackie didn’t even consider making Coastal his full-time career until attending a training seminar with Dani Johnson that opened his eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.
“I went to that training event and 30 days after I returned I had made $14,995 dollars. That’s when I pretty much knew this was something I could pursue,” Jackie says. “My take-home pay as a nurse was only around $2,000 a month. I’m at work talking to patients and thinking that I could be at home making phone calls and building my business.”


Twelve months after starting his home business part time, Jackie was earning $70,000 annually—more than double what he took home from his nursing gig. “I was beginning to feel like I was losing money being at work,” he says. So after some thought, Jackie decided to trim down his hospital hours and concentrate on Coastal fulltime. He committed to four shifts a month, but found that he was so busy traveling and enjoying his business that even those small amount of hours was becoming too much to handle.


Finally Debbie, Jackie’s nurse manager, approached him on the eve of a three-week vacation and informed him that he would need to honor his obligation or resign his position at the hospital. Jackie hopped on a plane and never went back to the hospital.


Today, he spends about 20 or 25 hours a week on his home business, allotting the rest of his time to his passions—luxury travel, cigars, family, charity work, and the occasional long nap. He and his girlfriend, Carmen, recently returned from a nine-day vacation to Bora Bora, where they saved $10,200 using their Coastal membership. Jackie has also enjoyed several exotic cruises and three-day mini-vacations since joining Coastal Vacations.


He gets a chuckle out of waking up in the winter and seeing his neighbors shovel out their driveways in the dark so they can make it to the office on time. “I just go back to sleep because there’s nowhere I need to be,” he says simply. “I typically start work around 9 am, and it’s completely built around my schedule. There are no meetings and parties to go to —everything is from home. If something comes up with my family, I don’t have to ask permission to take time off. I just go. When it comes to medical stuff, I’m the nurse in the family—I just hop in the car and drive or hop on a plane. You can do this business from anywhere.”


Jackie knows this better than most: he recently left Goldsboro, North Carolina and moved to Saginaw, Michigan to be with his girlfriend. All he needed to do to relocate his business was unplug his laptop and take it with him.


Coastal Vacations has given Jackie a new career, an improved personal life, and all the freedom he could ask for. The only thing left to do is to help more people get started.

How to Increase your Income with Coastal Vacations

Are you a Director in Coastal Vacations looking to increase your income and results? In the next few moments I will guide you through what has been taking place in DFI "Decide Freedom International" that has allowed them to grow 400% in the last 6 months. As the support and marketing arm of Coastal Vacations there are some things that are creating success in DFI. You can model them in your own Coastal Vacations business and increase your time freedom and income. You do not have to be part of DFI to learn what they are doing right.


First and foremost you need to have a very simple streamlined system. It needs to be an absolute guarantee that if your newest associates and team members follow your system everyone can create the same level of results. At least up to a six figure income. Second, what you do must be easy to duplicate. Internet marketing does not work, not everyone has the skill or the ability. Not everyone can be in the top ten on Google for a given phrase for instance. If you have that ability don't ignore it but also be realistic and do not assume your way of "growing" your business through teaching your new associates something that has taken you years to learn. Regardless of background or experience, stay at home mom or corporate executive your method has to be able to work for EVERONE.


Finally do not diversify!!! The biggest mistake a successful director can do is get to the point where they have a team and are in "management mode". What usually results is the false idea that everyone has a different blueprint and will learn their business in different way. So a well intentioned leader would go out and find different trainers and teach different methods of building your business and, what results is total confusion. It is no longer simple for your newest people now. Each new trainer or leader that is training has a little different slant.


The single biggest asset to DFI is Jackie O'Quinn, Renae Heikkila and Stacy O'Quinn built their business on a single path and now it is proven path for Coastal Vacations and it works. They refer all of their training back to a system and a source which has created a proven track record. That source is Dani Johnson's training. Snap Response, DFILive.com and Coastal Vacations!

OK I've been doing this business for quite some time. And like any other industry there are sometimes opportunities within an opportunity. Now usually that is because the environment in some way shape or form has just improved. Right now this is one of the most amazing times to be part of DFILive in Coastal Vacations.

Since the very beginning of my business I've always used Advertising Firms to provide me with clients. There are only two companies I've ever had any real success with. Cutting Edge Media and Snap Response, both of which are at the top of their game.

Right now, the Coastal Video Lead being produced by Snap Response is the HOTTEST Lead I have EVER used. The Results people are getting is nutty. I just dialed 20 of them recently and spoke to 15 of them. That is a 75% connect ratio. Recently Cadie from MN ordered 60 of them and made 6400 dollars! The team at www.snapresponse.com is apparently serious about maintaining their quality. They are always asking about quality and doing there own quality control behind the scenes.

I'm so JACKED up right now!!! To be where we are, MOST people never ever experience this. Thank GOD you are where you are today. I was telling Dawn my wife earlier it almost feels like we've won the lottery. Not to mention all the upgrades coming to the marketing system very very soon.

As a side note, I did use quite a few of the real time Christian leads from Snap Response and I was TOTALLY impress with the quality of that lead since it is generic and not business specific.

Choices, we make 'em and live by em...

I was talking to Renae Heikkila, a friend and business partner recently... why do we not hear of people making $100,000 a month in Coastal Vacations. It's possible, I've done $30,000 in a month a couple of times and Renae has done $50,000 a couple of times I know. Jackie OQuinn my brother he's had several upper $20,000 months, several people have. But you don't hear of anyone making 100,000 a month?

Renae, said something that shocked me a little. She said it's because they make the choice not too! I had to think about that for a minute. But she's right, it's so simple to make money in Coastal Vacations and Dani Johnson is absolutely right in her training. "The worse thing about success is a little bit".

The facts are that the majority of people looking to work from home are OK with 1-3,000 a month tops. So when they exceed that... they are excited and make different choices. It's funny how we will kill ourselves when we work for someone else, but demote ourselves when we work for our self, we won't even diligently work 15-20 hours a week at most. So success and how much success is a choice based off of a decision.

As people make money there momentum grows and continues until they stop, being diligent. It takes persistence and diligence to build momentum. But diligence and momentum does not flow together. There is a lag effect... I've had more then one month in my business where I made nothing but worked really hard. June of last year comes to mind, but that work paid off in July in the form of 19,000 dollars.

Nice Overview of Coastal Vacations

I found this write up of Coastal Vacations done by Matt and Catherine Willis, fellow Coastal Directors. Good basic jist of the membership packages.

Coastal Vacations is an association of business owners that market travel packages at wholesale prices and sell them for retail or a business opportunity. There are three different Coastal Vacations travel packages ranging anywhere from $1295 to $11,000. Of course, the higher the price, the more the travel benefits.

The Coastal Vacations packages generally promise an up to 75% on its vacations and cruises compared to regular retail prices if bought directly from a travel agency or the hotel or cruise line.

Coastal Vacations includes in its travel packages over 22 membership cards with discounts in hotels, cruises, golfing, RVing, camping, dining, condo stays, gas, groceries, car rental, and more. Pretty much all things travel and entertainment are covered in the Coastal Vacations package.

Hotels like the Wyndham and cruise lines like Carnival and Royal Caribbean as well as Celebrity Cruises have partnered with vendors included in the Coastal Vacations packages to offer the Coastal Vacations travel members free hotel stays and cruises where only taxes and fees are required by the traveler.

The Coastal Vacations travel packages includes many vacations, and all of them are transferable, so they can be given as gifts, at fundraisers, as business incentives, and to anyone you want, but they cannot be sold individually.

The Coastal Vacations members are never required to attend a timeshare presentation or any other travel plan out there. Coastal Vacations has managed to put together a pretty thorough quality package for a very affordable price.

The Coastal Vacation, despite what is being said out there, in my opinion are not pricey at all. This is because the average American family of 4 spends at least $2800 every single year on vacation. That means that in a 10-year period, the average American family spends $28000 on vacation, and the highest priced Coastal Vacations package costs only $11,000 and includes a lifetime of unlimited all-inclusive hotel stays and cruises, and that means it is for life.

So, in my general opinion, Coastal Vacations offers both the travel and the smart business entrepreneur great opportunities to both make money and really travel for pennies on the dollar.

What you can learn from First Steps to Success and Dani Johnson

Well, the weekend is over and another amazing First Steps to Success just went by us. Where you there? What did you learn? If you missed it what did you miss out on? After 20+ events this was certainly one of Dani Johnson's best. Or maybe I was positioned to hear more this time. Either way there where some critical things that got picked up. I will mention a few of them here. AS a disclaimer these are not things that Dani taught directly, these are things I caught. As Dani says, "Some things are caught and some things are taught".


First, Birds of a feather flock together. Now you've probably heard that before but something really solid hit me this weekend. If you want to achieve more and accomplish more make sure you are in a "flock" that is achieving more and making things happen. If you are in a business or some type of management and you want a particular group to achieve more then make sure you expose them to a flock that will allow them to move in that direction. Dani said something this weekend that is huge. Chances are most of the people you hang out with make generally the same amount of money you do. So if you want to increase that, don't leave your current friends but find a group of people that you can plug into that has your same desire and passion.

Second, It's lonely on the top. Not to mention it's harder to go farther alone. If you build a business, team or influence on your own then what is really happening is you are feeding your self image off of what "you" can do. Loyalty is difficult to maintain. You can not fend off the challenges of success to continue to grow with out help? How do you turn it around? Be truthful with yourself and work for the team FIRST. Don't think about what you get if you do X. X will come if you just shut your brain off and act on someone else's behalf. I recently heard a leader say I want you guys to do X, so that you are successful and make me money. That leader does not realize what he really said. That's because it's a challenge to move our self totally out of the way. I've been there too.

Third, People only follow your example. It does not matter what you say or how you say it. Your sphere of influence will only follow what you lead them by. That is they want to achieve your level of success so they are looking at your actions. Why are we so stupid as leaders sometimes and get cocky where we are and act differently or do differently then we did originally that made us successful? I know leaders in different work at home businesses and Coastal Vacations. They tell a testimony and then tell there team to do X so they can be successful and one day they don't have to work? That's a lie and those same leaders either start to disappear, go get a different job and/or start totally fabricating their testimony.

We should always follow success. As a leader we should be leaving successful examples if we want our own success and sphere of influence to grow!

The Seperate Account

It is some of the best advice that many of us just starting out in Coastal Vacations or in home business miss out on. I discovered this the hard way.


Many people who start their own business do not consider the importance of a second banking account expressly for their company. They would be surprised to find that the extra work of toting in two bank statements from the mailbox is quickly recovered by the decrease in the amount of hassle and stress created.

When you mix the money from your business with the money from your household, the result is something of a mess. Even in a stellar year, you never know which end is up. The money that you had earmarked for expansion, your spouse had earmarked for school clothes. And you both spend it. Oops! Or your spouse looks at the business and calls you a tightwad because you tell them you can't spend all of that money; they don't have a correct understanding of the expenses required of your company. And then there is the federal government. If everything is all mixed up together, tax time becomes even more dreaded, and that money you are supposed to send them seems to have disappeared...

A separate business account can ease much of this stress. The mechanics are simple. You deposit all monies from your company into this account. You take out all expenses. What is left is your profit. You might think you clear all of it, but think again. Uncle Sam will be hovering over you if you don't have the money when taxes are due.

Now comes the fun part. Well, mostly fun. However often you decide to take money home (monthly, biweekly, whatever), you get to write yourself a check. I say 'mostly fun' because, to keep Uncle Sam from taking your firstborn child, you really need to write two checks. One comes home. One goes into a special, don't touch me, tax savings account. You should be taking out approximately 25% of your profit for taxes, so if you were going to take home $1000, then you write yourself a check for $750 and your tax savings account a check for $250.

When you sit down with your accountant, you'll find that your paperwork got a little bit simpler. Print out your account statement. If you use a program like Quickbooks to organize your money, and if you've itemized individual transactions, then you can print a report to give you an idea of where the money is going.

So what happens when you open a second account? Your spouse gets to interact with the profit (though they should, of course, have a general idea of the business going ons). The house payment and business expenses all get paid. The federal government gets paid. The accountant is happy you made his life a little easier. And you get to stay in business for another year.

Sowing and Reaping, and Coastal Vacations

FOCUS a Single Path, is it for you?

Recently, I was in a conversation with Hans Johnson from Call to Freedom International and he made a point that has stuck with me. What he said was profound. What if I shared with you right now this one secret that Hans shared with several of us would guarentee that you can make 100,000 dollars in the next year? Would you listen and take his multi-million dollar advice? Is it something that you would apply to your life, right now. Would you act today?

What he said was this. The path to becoming a six figure income earner has already been created. It takes zero guessing. It takes zero wandering and trying to figure out how. All that has been done for us. Now you may be asking, "What do you mean?" It's simple really. There are so many paths to making a six figure income that are proven, because there are truly a fairly large numbers of people make 100 thousand a year. So his advice was find a simple path that is proven and just follow it. Don't change it. Why is it, that we have to always fix something else or try to improve it?

Seriously, why does it appear to be human nature that we finally find someone who will guide us on exactly what they are doing to have success. What exactly they do to help others become successful and we have to second guess or attempt to take a proven model and adjust it? I did this to start with when I first started using the script book in my normal prospecting. I thought if I "made it my own" it would match my personality better. WRONG, It did not work that way. My results suffered. Why do you think that is? What would be your guess?

It's because I walked away from a proven model, almost with out knowing it. I attempted to create a model on my own, of course it was based off of the same decisions that had created my need to make money. There was only one result proven there and it was more debt.
