Improve Your Listening Skills To Achieve Success
Can
you remember the last time you listened to someone else? We are not referring
to the typical listening that each of us does, which is merely waiting to jump
in with the next thought or preoccupying our minds until we can end the
conversation. We mean really, truly listening: absorbing what another person is
saying so you can receive the true and complete message. Admit it, it has been
a while, hasn’t it? Real listening should not be the exception, it should be
the rule.
Many
people love to talk because it lets them convey their thoughts and feelings.
But, talk that falls on deaf ears is not very satisfying. We want the other
person to listen attentively without judgment or any motivation to do so. This establishes
trust and does great things for self-confidence. It helps us to be more
effective on a personal level. It can also help us be more successful in our
careers.
Listening
may seem simple but many people do not do it correctly. They only listen to a
portion of what a speaker is saying, picking out the information that resonates
on a personal level. The rest of the details are either not received or are
filed into a virtual trash receptacle. This may alter or completely transform
the message intended by the speaker, creating less than satisfactory results.
Employers
often complain that their employees do not follow basic instructions. This may
happen because the employees are not listening. By opening their ears, these
employees could avoid having to redo their work and could increase the
likelihood of personal recognition such as promotions. Real listening saves
time, money, and effort while reducing frustration and stress. Begin practicing
it today to experience immediate improvement in the work environment.
Being
a good listener is a key to success. It begins with making eye contact, which
is a sign of respect. Good listening often requires committing information to
memory so if your brain is at maximum capacity, take written notes. These will help
to refresh your memory and serve as a record of the conversation. After the
other person makes a point, rephrase what was said in order to verify
understanding and obtain clarification.
Incorporating
these practices into daily workplace interactions can have an immediate effect.
People will begin seeking you out for conversations and will value your input
because it reflects attentive listening. Others will begin to take notice of
your increased involvement in workplace teams and may follow suit by asking for
assistance with high-level projects.
Business
leaders often go out of their way to promote workers who have valuable skills.
Listening may be the difference between a six figure income and a seat in a cubicle until retirement. There is always enough
time to listen so stop making excuses. Perfect your listening skills to begin
reaping the rewards that these bring. Encourage others to become good listeners
and fill your team with these valuable individuals when you become a leader
within the organization.

Conducting a Personal Value Assessment
The
most successful businesses find out what their customers value and align
products or services with this. Each of us should take the same approach with
our lives. Giving thanks is a major priority this month and what we are
thankful for stems from what we value. Think deeper than the first thing that
comes to mind such as money or a nice home. Consider things that do not come
with a price tag. Family, friends, and faith may be included in this list but
what about bigger things like freedom and integrity?
Real
value is priceless and certain things are commonly-held values. We may take our
freedom for granted but without it, our lives would be much different. Think
about this when determining what holds most value in your life. These are
things that nothing and no one can take away. Skills, knowledge, a sense of
ethics, and our spirit cannot be wiped away by a career or personal setback.
Money
is nice and it can help people get and accomplish many things. But, it can be
gone in an instant due to poor financial management, an accident, or other
unexpected event. Many people have no money when they embark on their careers.
What they do have is knowledge, some skills, and a drive to succeed. This is
what helps them rise to the top and create six figure income from nothing. This is what they fall back on during a
setback.
We
should appreciate what is truly valuable in our lives and strive to create
additional value for others and ourselves. Many people are less fortunate and
can benefit from our assistance. As we ascend to success, we can take them with
us. Allowing others to share in the joys along the way creates a bond that is
difficult to break. These folks will also be there when things do not go as
planned, helping us through difficult times.
Dani
Johnson is one lifestyle expert who believes in constantly adding value. Her
work involves helping others overcome difficulties and change their mindsets. She
developed an entire training program around this initiative. Called
Conditioning for Success, it helps us shake off beliefs that limit our
potential and makes us willing to take risks and face challenges that once were
intimidating.
Conditioning
for Success helps us understand that we all deserve to be successful. We learn
to believe that we can succeed and after achieving success, we can build upon
it and share it with those within our networks. In the process, we can
eliminate risk of losing what we work to create, allowing us to sustain this
success for a lifetime.
Wouldn’t
it be nice to get rid of burdening thoughts and build upon what you truly
value? You can and all it takes is some training from an expert. Success
involves building upon what you have and acquiring new skills to make this even
better. After conducting your personal value assessment, learn more about
Dani’s Conditioning for Success program by visiting her website.

Turning Situations Into Opportunities
Everyone, everywhere has the chance to change his or her life.
Whatever our age, background, race, religion, and location, we all encounter
situations in life. What we do in them takes our lives in certain directions.
Many of us are dealing with restricted finances, personal issues, and other
problems but we can play active roles in getting ourselves out of these
situations. The key lies in how we react to the situations we encounter.
Modern society is comprised of many people who have settled
for what life has given them. They are doing less than they have the potential
to do. For them, life is uninspiring and perhaps even disappointing. There is
no reason to live this way when anyone can create opportunities and build a
better life. Only a few people have taken this step and they are the ones
living the dream.
What does it take to create opportunities from everyday
situations? Not much! Opportunities are everywhere. We just need to recognize
them and take advantage of them. On her radio show, Dani Johnson recently
hosted a family whose the 12-year-old daughter made $20,000 in her first year
of running a jewelry business. This year, her jewelry will be included in New
York Fashion Week and she has already started another successful business with
her younger brother.
The parents of this young entrepreneur followed the tips in
Dani’s First Steps to Success program and are now making a six figure income. They have paid off more than $80,000 in debt and
the husband who once worked up to 18 hours a day was able to quit his job
because the income from his wife’s business replaced his. This family was
struggling to make ends meet but decided that being stuck was not an option.
They did not allow their circumstances to dictate their future but instead took
advantage of the opportunities that surrounded them.
Difficulties and challenges may seem like huge barriers to
changing your situation. However, they may not be as difficult to overcome as
they seem and opportunities lie between these roadblocks. Dani has heard
hundreds of stories from people who have used their skills to create
opportunities that got them out of horrible situations. With the right
knowledge and skills, anyone can turn life from disappointing to successful in
a short time.
First Steps to Success is designed to put you back in
control of your life. The system is simple to use and can be applied to almost
any environment. Whether you are struggling with a business, career, finances,
family, or even spirituality, this program can be life-changing. Results are
immediate and dramatic because the program teaches people how to experience
their full potential now, not in the future.
Dani offers this two-day program throughout the country and
in October she is heading to Cincinnati, Ohio. Registration is now open for the
event at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati so consider attending because it could
change your life. Details and registration are posted on the Dani Johnson
website. Reading the success stories should be enough to inspire you to attend!

Dani Johnson Tells Us How To Battle The Economy And Win
If anyone knows how to turn a personal financial crisis into
a winning situation it is Dani Johnson. In her early twenties, Dani used her
dedication to transform her financial status from bleak to amazing. Economic
conditions are much different today and many people use this as an excuse for
their debt and unemployment. However, there are also people who are flourishing
in this economy. This leads to the conclusion that the person, not the economy,
is to blame.
How we deal with our circumstances, not the circumstances
themselves, determine our success. Just ask Dani, as she managed to go from
being broke and homeless to pulling in a six figure income in just one year. People who succeed in the current economy
are doing things differently than the majority of the public just as Dani did
so many years ago. Why wait for the economy to change when there are ways to
become more valuable and successful during the current conditions?
Dani notes that a very small portion of the population,
approximately two percent, takes the bull by the horns. The majority of people
sit back and wait for change to occur. As we have recently witnessed, change
can be slow in arriving and there may be subsequent setbacks that extend the
wait. Time is precious and to make the most of it, we must learn skills that
increase our value and distinguish us from people who are waiting for change to
arrive.
The economy and job market are characterized by a continuous
state of change. However, one thing holds true no matter what state these are
in: value commands a premium. By increasing our value, we increase our worth
and raises, promotions, and career growth follow. Dani has helped thousands of
people to elevate their value. Her technique? Helping people to increase their
skills. Success is not determined by background, family, personality, or looks.
Skill is what makes one person more valuable than another is.
According to Dani, professional, interpersonal, and leadership
skills increase value, indirectly increasing income. We must master the skills
required by our professions, be willing to learn new skills, and be open to
specializing. These characteristics separate the amateurs from the
professionals. Enhancing our people skills results in income security and
success. Individuals who lack people skills are typically the first workers to
be downsized.
People who increase their leadership skills become
influencers that are valued by the marketplace. These individuals are
constantly bettering themselves and they focus on creating results. Someone
with an advanced level of leadership skills will not accept excuses. He or she
assumes responsibility for creating personal success and helps others become
leaders.
Individuals who are in debt, unemployed, or otherwise not
meeting their potential perpetuate their situations by doing what they have
always done. Those who stop blaming their circumstances on the economy and
instead increase their professional, interpersonal, and leadership skills succeed
by making themselves more valuable. Dani has helped many people develop their
skills so consider using her methods.
