Hurricane Evacuation underway!

As I hoped and prayed that somehow this Hurricane would go somewhere else. It still appears it's coming right at my house, Dang! We live about an hour south of Baton Rouge and north of New Orleans.

Just found out that east bound traffic will be blocked through Baton Rouge tomorrow and that's the way I am evacuating so this afternoon we are leaving. Will be praying over my home and property before we leave. It's now in his hands. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated as well :)

Did someone say Hurricane? Glad I work from home...

Gustav, is definitely headed toward the Gulf of Mexico where it goes from there nobody knows. This is another one of those moments where I'm glad I work from home. If it gets close trust me the O'Quinn family is heading for the hills :).

Back in the my military days we had to wait for them to evacuate us. Or depending on the equipment we were maintaining I might have to stay behind and send my family off with out me. Now I never really felt like I was in danger but dang who wants to be separated from their family as they sit in the path of a hurricane?

So Gustav come if you like! I'll pray that my home stays in place but if you take that I'll still have my family and well my family will still have an income. Did I ever mention how much I live DFI and Coastal Travel? Speaking of loving this business, Edgar (he's 2) learned to ride a big kids bike today!!!

Enjoy your kids it's apparent they grow up super fast! If you and your family are near the path of Gustav you will be in our prayers. Be safe and think smart! Don't stay behind no matter what we all remember the pictures on TV from Katrina.

Little Suprises found on Yahoo's news page

This morning I wake up ate breakfast like normal. I experience my alone time and my spiritual time. One of the things that is the cry of my heart is "Please Lord let us get our message out there". There is another way people don't have to stay in the same rut they are in now. We were not designed to be in debt, we were not designed to stress or worry and we were not designed to lack time with our family.

There is a better way and our families and kids require that we find that better way! So the call of my heart is Lord let others hear about what we are doing in DFI.

Right after that I'm randomly on the .net and ran across this article.

Thanks on my Birthday!

I received a ton of email, cards and little gifts for my Birthday! I'm sure I've missed responding to everyone so I wanted to post it here as well for each of you.

Thank YOU so Much! All of your gifts, words of encouragement and knowing that we are surrounded with people that support us is more important than money.

Life is a complete blessing! As I reflected on my Birthday yesterday I started thinking about where I'm at in life now and where I'm going. Being a husband and a dad are probably the most amazing experience anyone could ever ask for. On top of that, we are a stay at home family! My kids will grow up and never forget the times we share, laugh and joke as a family!

Working from home has definitely provided us a total complete lifestyle of FREEDOM but more importantly are the lessons we have to share with our kids. How do you make it to this point? What does it take to be debt free? What does it take to not be strapped to a time clock, punching in and punching out when our boss demands?

It's simple! It starts by setting goals and is followed by taking action? We have to teach our kids that. What do you want to do with your life? What are you doing right now? Is what you are doing right now going to get you where you want to go? If not change actions and start doing result oriented task right this second!!!

Do you wanna work from home? What are you doing about it? Do you wanna be debt free? What are you doing about it? Do you want total freedom? What are you doing about it? We must act first vs reacting later!

Working from Home has it's benefits when you are sick

Well after a crazy weekend out of town with the family, I brought home a virus of some sort. I started feeling it Monday evening. Got sick Monday night and from Monday till mid morning on Tuesday the bathroom was my friend.

As I lay in bed sick it occurred to me I'm glad I'm not in the military anymore. I'd have to go to the clinic and they may or may not have sent me home for the day then I would have to stay at work unless my boss decided out of the goodness of his heart to send me home. Then I was like wow after talking to my sister-in-law this weekend if I worked any other job we would have to worry about having enough time off to take a sick day. No Thanks!

We had one of those crazy 24 hour virus's that hit the entire family. Edgar woke up yesterday morning he's two. He said, "Mommy I sick in my bed, yucky." We had to throw away his pillow. By that evening I started feeling better but Dawn was not doing well so I basically managed the kids, Alexis who's 4 and Edgar who's 2. Alexis woke up this morning talking about the big day we had yesterday. hehe She so far was the only one that did not get sick.

The good news is it appears to have only been a 24 hour bug and we did get through it. Working from home allowed us to have a "Big Day" at least together as a family. No stress of a normal job. I'm grateful for the small blessings!

A Phoneburner Review: Phoneburner creates Blazing Results!

It does not matter what business or industry you are in if you do not find out how to consistently focus on new business or customer acquisition you will not be in business long.
