Small Business Helping to Improve the Economy

small business, economy
As larger corporation pull back on hiring new employees during these times of economic uncertainty, small businesses are beginning to hire more, helping to create the majority of new jobs. Although many economists believe that the labor market growth with slow throughout the year, it is possible for smaller businesses with 50 employees or less to help keep the market relatively stable. Recent employment reports from the Labor Department are continuing to show a decrease in the addition of new jobs.

According to reports put forth by the National Federation of Independent Business, or NFIB, small businesses added an average of 0.18 workers per firm during March of this year. This is one of the best readings that NFIB has reported in the last 10 years. In addition to this great news for employment numbers, 24 percent of the small businesses recently surveyed are planning to add more workers, while only four perecent are planning to make cuts to their work force. Early in the recovery of the recession, big businesses were rapidly hiring, but small businesses are now helping to support and improve the economy.

Mark Zandi, Moody Analytics’ chief economic officer, says “I think small businesses will account for a larger share of the job growth this year than at any time since before the recession.” Zandi also believes that small businesses will contribute to well over half of all employment gains for 2015.  According to reports put out by the Labor Department, the creation of new positions is down almost 140,000 jobs from February to March, but Bill Dunkelberg of NFIB doesn’t believe these decreases will last long.

Dunkelberg, the chief economic officer of the National Federation of Independent Business, expects these surprisingly weak new job totals to beef up in coming months, especially since the reports from the Labor Department do not always fully capture the hiring patterns of small businesses. Another factor to take into account is the increasing approval for small business loans – banks approved almost 22 percent of small business loan applications in February, which is a significant increase in the post-recession.

One company that is taking full advantage of the improved situations for small businesses is Method Savvy, located in Durham, NC. This 16 employee business has added three fulltime employees in the first quarter alone and plans to add up to 10 more positions throughout the year. CEO Jake Finkelstein attributes the additional hiring to the 60 percent revenue growth the business will see in the coming year. “A lot of companies we work with are more willing to take a calculated risk,” says Finkelstein.

How to Survive Being Laid Off in this Economy

Being laid off is one of the most fearful moments a mom or dad can feel. It's important to understand that even in this economy with unemployment increasing it's not over. You have several options available to you. Assess your situation, verify your resources and find a solution and act. That may be easier said than done but the fact remains you have to take control of your situation versus leaving it up to someone else.

You've just lost your job now what? Take some time and assess your situation. Who do you know that may help you with an opportunity or another job. Where are you at financially right now? What will you do to ensure that someone else isn't in control of your life in the future? With the answer to those questions you can begin to formulate a game plan. You can analyze what you have going for you and what your limits are.

Then you need to verify your resources and be truthful with yourself. Who can help you get a job even if it's part time? What can you do to ensure that losing your job is not something you will have to fear in the future? How can you make a living on your own or earn money part time from home. Can you do consulting work, can you start your own business from home and be in control of your own life. Occasionally it takes our backs against the wall for us to really open our eyes to what is possible. When you are verifying your resources on is your money that you may have saved, in the bank or retirement accounts maybe even cash value on insurance policies. You have to protect that resource and make it last as long as possible. When you spend or invest money you need to ensure it's for either survival or opportunity, obviously if you start a business it will take some of your liquid cash but it may also leave you in control.

The bottom line is this; you must assess your situation, verify your resources and find a solution. You have to act. Your company did not look out for you, your boss is not paying your bills and the government isn't giving you a bailout. You have two basic choices you can assess your situation and choose to wait it out spending your savings slowly over time till another opportunity comes or you can decide to create your own future. Do what America's founding fathers did and start your own business or develop your own way of making money and be in control of your life and no longer feel stress.

The Economy is Slipping What Should You Do?

The Economy is slipping what should you do about it? First we have to understand what is causing this and how will it affect us. One of the biggest issues at hand is the looming potential collapse of the US Dollar.

Why will this happen according to Kirk Elliot who has a PhD in economics and has studied our economy for over 25 years is that we have printed more money than most of the major events of our time cost in today's dollars. We have printed 4.2 trillion dollars in 6 months.

In today's dollars when you figure in inflation Kirk stated, "That's more than the US Government spent on the New Deal, Korean War, First Gulf War, War on Terrorism, what it took to put a man on the moon and NASA's entire budget combined that's only 3.1 Trillion Dollars in today's money.

We have created 1.1 Trillion Dollars out of thin air. What will happen according to Gerald Celente of the Trends Research Institute? He says, "It is a matter of time before the US Dollar becomes worthless due to hyper-inflation." They only way to turn this around is massive interest rate hikes up too 20-30% and stop printing money. Neither of which is going to happen. For obvious reasons. Mr. Celente, predicts that best case scenario America will be using a new currency by 2010 and the dollar will reset against that new currency.

That will create an environment where most Americans will lose at least 25-50% of their wealth and many more will lose everything based off of where they are vested financially.

So what should you do about it?

First of all don't sit around with your head in the sand pretending that nothing is happening. Second find a way to liquidate any investment you have in Real Estate, Stocks, Bonds (the bond market will collapse soon according to Mr. Celente) and any other intangible asset. Make as much liquid money as you possible can and leverage your buying power (while you still have it) into something that will always have value even if the dollar goes down to nothing.

Take your money and put it into something tangible, like raw land or prescious metals gold and sliver.

The good news for each of us in DFI is the huge profit margin we have a massive cushion. When you make up to 9,705 dollars on each transaction and that's more than most people make in a week. You get an opportunity to prepare yourself. Pay off debt or get out of a tight situation and start preparing yourself fast. When hyper inflation starts people will be flocking to us, right now we are ahead of the curve. Don't sit around and waste time, be diligent prepare yourself for this rocky economy and let's ROLL!

Blessing to you and your family,
