How to build a bridge

Two Brothers
by Author Unknown

Once upon a time two brothers, who lived on adjoining farms, fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 40 years of farming side by side, sharing machinery, and trading labor and goods as needed without a conflict. Then the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence.

One morning there was a knock on John's door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter's tool box. "I'm looking for a few days' work" he said. "Perhaps you would have a few small jobs here and there I could help with? Could I help you?" "Yes," said the older brother. "I do have a job for you."

"Look across the creek at that farm. That's my neighbor; in fact, it's my younger brother. Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his bulldozer to the river levee and now there is a creek between us. Well, he may have done this to spite me, but I'll do him one better."
"See that pile of lumber by the barn? I want you to build me a fence --an 8-foot fence -- so I won't need to see his place or his face anymore."

The carpenter said, "I think I understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post-hole digger and I'll be able to do a job that pleases you."

The older brother had to go to town, so he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he was off for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, sawing, nailing. About sunset when the farmer returned, the carpenter had just finished his job.

The farmer's eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence there at all. It was a bridge -- a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, handrails and all -- and the neighbor, his younger brother, was coming toward them, his hand outstretched. "You are quite a fellow to build this bridge after all I've said and done." The two brothers stood at each end of the bridge, and then they met in the middle, taking each other's hand.

They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox onto his shoulder. "No, wait! Stay a few days. I've a lot of other projects for you," said the older brother. "I'd love to stay on," the carpenter said, but I have many more bridges to build.

Food for Thought:Do you have any bridges that you need to build?

P.S. This blog is about success and prosperity but if you don't build bridges you will never succeed.

To your success,

Destiny and the Power of Belief!

by Author Unknown

During a momentous battle, a Japanese general decided to attack even though his army was greatly outnumbered. He was confident they would win, but his men were filled with doubt.
On the way to the battle, they stopped at a religious shrine. After praying with the men, the general took out a coin and said, "I shall now toss this coin. If it is heads, we shall win. If it is tails we shall lose."

"Destiny will now reveal itself."
He threw the coin into the air and all watched intently as it landed. It was heads. The soldiers were so overjoyed and filled with confidence that they vigorously attacked the enemy and were victorious.

After the battle. a lieutenant remarked to the general, "No one can change destiny."
"Quite right," the general replied as he showed the lieutenant the coin, which had heads on both sides.

Cindy saved over 1,800 dollars on her Coastal travel membership!

We just got this email in over at

We wanted to forward this over to you. Cindy, recently saved a ton of money using her Coastal Membership. Read what she had to say...

Hi, This is Cindy from Ca.
My husband is very leery about everything. He could not understand how people could save so much money on a vacation. We finally bought the Premier membership, after about 6 months.

This August we went to Kona Hawaii, one of my dreams. We stayed at Royal Kona Resort. It was absolutely beautiful. We got an Ocean Front Room that was upgraded, from a regular standard room because of the Coastal Vacations membership, we could hear the waves outside our room we watched the sunsets every night from the patio outside our room, and they were spectacular. We stayed for 7 days. The normal price for this room was $450.00 a night we got the room for $189.00 per night taxes and everything included. That is a $1,825.00 savings in just the room not to mention the savings we got on Food, and Beverages, and activities, we went on a Deep Sea fishing trip, a Luau, and a Dinner cruise, all up to 50% savings.

When my Husband saw the savings that we made, he was amazed and he is telling all of his clients about it and we upgraded to the Platinum membership so that we could travel worldwide and save even more.

Thanks Coastal

Way to start living your dreams Cindy! If you are not already a Coastal member saving thousands of dollars on your travel, then give your Director a call and get your membership ordered NOW!

Cindy's Director, earned $3,200 when she purchased her Premier membership and then earned another $7,000 when she purchased her Platinum upgrade when returning from vacation. Could you just imagine working from home part time and earning $3,200 when a client purchased a Premier membership from you. Then have them use the product, return home, and love it so much they decide to upgrade to the Platinum membership?! Then you would earn another $7,000 for doing nothing more than answering the phone and getting their payment information. Think about it, what would an extra $7,000 do for you and your family?

Stacy O'Quinn,

What Kind of Budget Planner are YOU?

I found this article at How can you create or maintain a 6 figure income if you don't budget effectively. Better question, how are you going to grow it once you get it?

What Kind of Budget Planner are You?

There are a few different types of planners when it comes to managing budgets. The invisible planner neglects to track, manage, or take the time to update the budget. This planner seems to think if you create a budget it will take care of finances for you. All by itself. The passive planner takes a look at the budget on occasion but, really doesn't bother to take action when the figures don't add up? You might be a passive planner if you think that your budget will fix itself. Gee, these are two really great budgets, where do I get one? The efficient planner seeks to keep the budget alive and well. This planner has a realistic view of budgeting. So how do you become the efficient budget planner?

Set realistic expectations for yourself. We all want to be efficient budget planners. However, sometimes we make it hard on ourselves to achieve efficient budgeting. Many people set unrealistic budgeting goals and set themselves up for defeat from the start. Being more realistic with budgeting methods and figures can be easier and prove to be more efficient. If you're an invisible or passive budgeting planner, seek out the most efficient budgeting tools that meet your needs. The easier you make it on yourself, the more likely you are to follow through with budgeting tasks like budget tracking, updating, and maintaining.

Set realistic amounts for budget expenses. If you traditionally spend $500 on food each month, don't try to make your budget balance by decreasing the amount to $300. That is of course unless, you intend to actively use some money saving strategies to meet that goal. If $300 is a realistic goal, then go for it by all means. Follow this concept with all your expenses. Set realistic goals based on past spending. Then, if income and expenses don't balance, you can reduce spending in categories that you can (and will) most realistically make an effort to reduce.

Set realistic goals. If you have a huge debt payment, you're likely not to have the funds for savings until you eliminate debt. Plan to manage and eliminate debt first, then apply those freed up funds to savings and investment goals. Planning your goals to be achieved in a logical, realistic, time period and order will increase your chances of success at overall budget planning. Be sure to designate short and long term goals accordingly.

Budgeting is all about being real. Getting a real grasp on your finances. Being true to yourself and your financial needs is essential to your budget planning success. Don't plan a high finance budget on a moderate finance income. Be real with yourself. Everyone is different and has different financial goals and needs. Decide what you need to survive and be happy. What are you willing to realistically give up, or cut to the minimum, to make your budget plan work? Don't expect yourself to make major lifestyle and personality changes to suit your budget plan. Especially, if you've tried this in the past and failed. Instead, when planning your budget, create a realistic plan that suits your individual needs and personality. You'll be more likely to stick to it and succeed at achieving your financial goals.

If you are reaching for more...

Thanks Jodi Stott, Kimber King and Kathy Humpherys

I just got this video from Kimber King, Jodi Stott had made if from the last "Building a Dynasty" event with Dani Johnson. While it was a powerful event, it was also fun and entertaining. Jodi Stott and Kimber King are both on Kathy Humpherys's team in a different organization. But here's the deal, these ladies are amazing leaders and mentor's. If you happen to currently be working with this team they have genuine hearts and if you follow them step by step you can not help but to succeed.

IF you get the chance to talk to one of them for just a few moments consider yourself BLESSED. Many people would be grateful for just a few minutes of their time.

Thanks for the memories guys, Jodi and Kimber... Have you found Brittney yet?

The ending with TOM CHALLAN is too funny! TOM, you inspired this post!!!

Tom Challan is an amazing person and awesome leader as well. Talk about a success story! If you ever have the chance to work with him, consider yourself lucky!

Thanks a Ton!

Your Comfort Zone, can it be BROKEN?

The Comfort Zone.... Will you break yours?
by Author Unknown

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.

The same four walls and busy work were really more like jail.

I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,

But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.

I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.

I claimed to be so busy with things inside my zone,

But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.

I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.

I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,

I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,

Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.

Reach for your future with a smile;

Success is there for you!

How many Saturdays are left in your LIFE?

I got this from a friend and leader in DFI Lana Guber, it is powerful... definitely makes you think! How many Saturdays do you have left?

A few weeks ago, I was shuffling toward the garage with a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and the morning paper in the other. What began as a typical Saturday morning turned into one of those lessons that life seems to hand you from time to time. Let me tell you about it:I turned the dial up into the phone portion of the band on my ham radio in order to listen to a Saturday morning swap net. Along the way, I came across an older sounding chap, with a tremendous signal and a golden voice. You know the kind; he sounded like he should be in the broadcasting business. He was telling whomever he was talking with something about "a thousand marbles."

I was intrigued and stopped to listen to what he had to say: "Well, Tom, it sure sounds like you're busy with your job. I'm sure they pay you well but it's a shame you have to be away from home and your family so much. Hard to believe a young fellow should have to work sixty or seventy hours a week to make ends meet. It's too bad you missed your daughter's "dance recital" he continued. "Let me tell you something that has helped me keep my own priorities." And that's when he began to explain his theory of a "thousand marbles."

"You see, I sat down one day and did a little arithmetic. The average person lives about seventy-five years. I know, some live more and some live less, but on average, folks live about seventy-five years."Now then, I multiplied 75 times 52 and I came up with 3900, which is the number of Saturdays that the average person has in their entire lifetime. Now, stick with me, Tom, I'm getting to the important part.It took me until I was fifty-five years old to think about all this in any detail", he went on, "and by that time I had lived through over twenty-eight hundred Saturdays." "I got to thinking that if I lived to be seventy-five, I only had about a thousand of them left to enjoy.

So I went to a toy store and bought every single marble they had. I ended up having to visit three toy stores to round up 1000 marbles. I took them home and put them inside a large, clear plastic container right here in the shack next to my gear.""Every Saturday since then, I have taken one marble out and thrown it away. I found that by watching the marbles diminish, I focused more on the really important things in life.

There is nothing like watching your time here on this earth run out to help get your priorities straight.""Now let me tell you one last thing before I sign-off with you and take my lovely wife out for breakfast. This morning, I took the very last marble out of the container. I figure that if I make it until next Saturday, then I have been given a little extra time. And the one thing we can all use is a little more time.""It was nice to meet you Tom, I hope you spend more time with your family, and I hope to meet you again

Have you taken your family out for breakfast on Saturday lately, or just spent time with them?

Take Care of yours,
Stacy O'Quinn

DFI, Just got back from Dynasty with Dani Johnson!!!

Holy Smokes! DFI "Decide Freedom International", just go back from Building a Dynasty with Dani Johnson it was a very successful event. There was 26 of us in DFI there and we developed more over 3 days then one could possibly imagine. It's very difficult to explain all I know is those making the most money in DFI plug into that training. It's how I learned to make 104,000 dollars in my first 12 months.

Don't take my word for it...

"I was working in a corporate America job 15 hours PER DAY working for someone elses dreams. I decided to stop the insanity, get started at the top package in my company, enroll in First Steps to Success, and in the last 12 months I’ve created a 6-figure income, paid off $50,000 in debt and acquired over a million dollars worth of property."~John Pitlick

"I was a full-time teacher and a coach, I had a lot of family and personal issues I was dealing with at the time and I knew I needed to make a change in my life. I plugged into Dani Johnson and was able to quit my job within 5 months, I doubled my annual salary in my business and it wasn’t even a year yet and I’m looking at $37,000 this month."~Andrea Rooke

"Prior to getting started in my business, I had ZERO business experience and not a clue how to run a successful business. After tapping into several First Steps to Success seminars, I now have the skills to a run a successful business, regularly earning $10,000/month."~Gregg Jakoby

"I owned a Corporate America company; I was making 6-figures but I was bored and unfulfilled. Since plugging into Dani Johnson I have been able totally flip my life around, my priorities are completely re-arranged. I’ve put my kid at the top of the list instead of my work. I’ve paid off $80,000 in personal debt, acquired properties because of the training that we’ve got. I’ve generated an additional 6-figures in my business and I’m working part-time on my fortune."~Tracy Steinke

"Prior to Dani Johnson I was trying to convince people of how great my product and opportunity was. I was also really unfocused. After going through First Steps to Success and Creating a Dynasty, I have control over my life again, I’m excited, people are begging me to be on my team instead of me begging them. My relationships have grown and I don’t let people control me anymore."~Michael Kitchen

"I’m a manager and I learned how some of the ways I’ve been treating employees is the opposite of the way I should be and that is gonna change just right in the workplace that I’m at. I think the live event, there’s something here, you get that dynamic that your missing on the recorded material." ~Roy Kinch

"We went to our first First Steps to Success, and at that time we were having weeks doing really well, overall making over $10,000 a month and now we’re coming to have weeks of breaking $20,000 a week so it’s really brought about a dynamic change in our whole business."~Tim West

"When you know your WHY - is your HOW!! Plain and simple - to the tune of 7 figures!!"~Sandi Krakowski

"I am currently an executive in a home based business company, and have been to functions with 70,000 people in them. I've heard almost every major motivational speaker and trainer out there, and I've got to tell you that Dani Johnson’s First Steps to Success was absolutely the best I have ever been to by far! Thank you guys for what you're doing, our industry has desperately needed you!"~Tyler Adkins

Success is a choice! Are you prepared to make a choice for Success?
