Prepare Yourself For The Next Secret Millionaire, Hilary DeCesare

On July 8, Hilary DeCesare will be featured on the primetime ABC television show Secret Millionaire. She continues a season that has been notable, to say the least. DeCesare is the co-founder and CEO of the kid-safe social media site Everloop. This millionaire will spend a week residing in a rundown Long Beach, California, apartment while volunteering undercover and looking for individuals and causes worthy of some of her money. This episode is filled with emotions, as DeCesare interacts with volunteers working with neglected animals and homeless people.

DeCesare managed to create six figure income with Everloop, a venture that arose from her role as a parent. When her teenage twins stated using the Internet, she realized that children had no place to safely connect with friends online. She also noticed the lack of information and security designed to keep children safe on the Internet. Online trends like Internet-related teen suicide, cyber-bullying, and online predators caused her to take action.

The result was a safe and protected online space for children younger than 13 to connect with friends, collaborate, and grow. Everloop is based on cutting edge technology and offers outstanding customer service. Fundraising was critical to obtaining startup money for this company. DeCesare remained focused, accountable, and flexible throughout the process, characteristics that surely came in handy during her time as the Secret Millionaire.

This entrepreneur has experienced every aspect of launching and growing a business. She has achieved enviable success, winning the AlwaysONGlobal 250, ONHollywood for Digital Media, and DEMOgod Award in 2010. She was a finalist in the 2010 Women 2.0 PITCH Startup Competition designed for companies in the beta stage that have not received significant funding. AlwaysOn named her one of the “Top 25 Women in Tech to Watch” in 2010 and 2011. DeCesare was even invited to The White House Conference on Bullying prevention.

This is not the first entrepreneurial venture for DeCesare. She previously co-founded the management consulting firm White Space Ink, which specialized in startup technology businesses. She was also employed by technology giant Oracle Corporation, earning more than 100 managerial sales awards worldwide. As an entrepreneur, she has realized the cost, time, and effort involved in starting a business and realizes that charitable volunteers face the same challenges.

Giving back is important to this entrepreneur, who serves on the board of directors at the Max Cure Foundation, which is dedicated to discovering medical cures that save the lives of children. She also invests in startup businesses, giving others a chance to showcase their talents to the world. DeCesare knows how difficult fundraising can be so she helps others whenever she can.

Ask DeCesare about her goals and she will say that she wants to change the world. She realizes that she cannot do this overnight and that life is about more than business. Time spent on Secret Millionaire reinforced her commitment to charitable giving and she plans to keep this a top priority in coming years while she focuses on growing her business.
